2009 Shining Light Award
Announcement
The Shining Light Award recognizes someone who works to eliminate domestic violence in the community, empowers victims of domestic violence, unites voices, alerts and educates the public, and builds partnerships to raise awareness.
Okaloosa County Deputies Burt Lopez and Warren "Skip" York were killed Saturday, April 25, 2009 while attempting to arrest a domestic violence suspect. The Okaloosa-Walton Domestic Violence Coordinating Council proudly honors the memory of these fallen Officers by presenting their families with our Annual Shining Light Award for making the ultimate sacrifice for their community.
This ceremony will take place at the Fourth Annual OWDVCC Conference on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church of Niceville
214 S. Partin Drive Niceville, FL 32578
